Character Assessment

During 2014 the Parish Council collected extensive information about the design and character of the parish in order to produce a Character Assessment of the area. The Staunton Character Assessment aims to promote high standards of new development design that conserves and enhances the character of the Parish.

The Consultation Draft of the Character Assessment was published on 5th January 2015 and publicised widely.The consultation period ran for four weeks and included two locally held consultation drop in sessions. Character Assessment 2015 (version for adoption)

On the 17th March 2015 Staunton Parish Council formally adopted the Staunton Character Assessment, a copy of which can be viewed below.

On the 18th August 2015 Forest of Dean District Council’s Planning Committee accepted the Character Assessment 2015 (adopted version) and included within its evidence base.
